Vash the Stampede (

Just a Slight Calibration
There was a bit of a malfunction. Nothing to be too concerned over and would be fixed right away. One would hardly notice at all. After all, it only happened when you were asleep and dreaming. Nothing to worry about. It was just a hardly worth mentioning malfunction that opened your subconscious up to anyone dreaming or who could travel freely through dreams. With or without your permission. But, really now, who would do something like that? Don't even bother thinking about it.
Which is why Vash's mind is open for anyone interested in rummaging around up there. After all, how could a guy as happy and carefree as Vash have anything hiding around up there that would be interesting in taking a look at anyway?
There are so many rooms on entry. Way more than a normal human should have at the age Vash looks. Instead of the amount expected for roughly 30 years of life there's enough for over a 130 years.
Most rooms are covered in dirt and dust. The smell of gunpowder lingers all around. The doors here look like they were made from hand. Mostly pieces of misshapen scrap nailed together, a few wooden ones, even a few made from hard clay. All have names craved into them. Countless names. A few, however, do repeat. Wolfwood, Meryl, and Milly being the ones that seem to appear the most among others that repeat, but not nearly the same amount. The other name that appears often is Knives. Always painted in blood red.
Then there are others that have wanted posters tacked onto them. Surprisingly most actually feature Vash himself. Yet there are others for people with such creative names like Gasback, Brilliant Dynamites Neon, The Nebraska Family, and group of people that go by the titled The Gun-Ho-Guns. One name appears over and over in that group. Legato.
Then there are two doors. One simply labeled as July in the same fashion as the others. Then there a second door labeled Lost July. This one looks like some sort of wallpaper had covered the door that has has only just been recently ripped away. A bright light glow can be seen around the edges of the door. This same glow can be found behind another door labeled as Fifth Moon.
Then there is a small section of rooms down a side hall with the label Project SEEDS above all of them. The doors here appear much more advanced and the smell of gun smoke vanishes. They open with a electronic switch instead of a poorly made door knob. Almost as if they are from a space ship from science fiction. These have only a handful of names appearing on them: Rem, Knives, Joey, Brad, Steve, Mary, and Rowan. Except for Knives these names do not appear on the dusty doors. The final room labeled as: The Big Fall.
The biggest question is - which door do you try first?

"RELAX, SHORTSTACK," he calls up to Vash, without turning around. "NOBODY'S GETTING HURT."
He reaches to stick the palm of his little black hand against the Plant's forehead. Touch-telepathy.

Still, Bill's offer is taken and mulled over by the collective thought. Seems each Plant has different ideas on the offer.
Real? We are real. Freedom. Create oxygen. Out in space. Cold and black. Happy. The boys are worried. Grass. Grass and water. Are we real? Water. Happy. Interloper. Memory. Not real. Oxygen. The woman will turn us off. Relax. Oxygen. Create. Food. Health. Real. Memory. Travel. Not welcomed. Make water. Create.
These thoughts continue on and on. In a way that most would probably have trouble making sense of the madness, but Bill being Bill should be able to get one clear thought out of all the jumbled thoughts. The Plants may have their own shifting thoughts and jobs to keep the ship running smoothly but there is one thought that is clear for all of them.
We want the boys to be happy. They don't have any other wants. They don't care about being real. They don't care about freedom. They don't care about getting out. All they care about is their brothers being happy. Besides fulfilling the duties they have been commanded to do they just want the twins to be happy.
Bill may be able to alter his deal, but he may need to do something about Rem who is getting ready to power down the Plant he's touching. Or maybe even Knives. Although Knives can't seem to get a handle on asking the collective to do what he needs them to do. It's his first time after all.

He snaps his fingers to freeze the memory cold.

Suddenly the noise stops. Rem stops just before she shuts the Plant down. The boys also stop as everything freezes in place.

He pauses for a moment in front of Rem.
Interesting lady. Bit of a sucker, though.
He heads back outside. Copy one should be buying him enough time to check out anything else that looks fun. Any other plant stuff around here?

because this Vash isn't from the manga, there's not a lot left here on the Plants. Just little short memories. Vash visiting the Plants again. Sometimes with his brother and Rem. Other times on his own. A couple times when he's in there alone Steve finds him in there and uses it as an excuse to beat the kid. Most of the visits the Plants don't wake up. If they do stir it's never near as much as the first time. Some doors show the boys learning how to calibrate the Plants. They pick it up quickly and surpass their teachers quickly. Without proper calibration the Plants aren't able to function and can eventually die. Bill will also likely learn that the twins are only about a year old when the ship crashes onto the planet. They don't really learn much about the Plants almost like most of the crew is a bit worried about them learning too much. Although only Steve is the one who outwardly acts uncomfortable around them. It's rare that he doesn't call them monsters or hit them when the others aren't looking. Where the rest only keep them from too much information on the Plants, but otherwise happy to play with the kids.
Once they land on the planet the two brothers wander around from place to place checking out the downed ships. The humans who awaken and survive the crash don't really know how to control the Plants. Eventually they do work out how to create basic needs from them. Knives without words can use his mind to control the Plants to make them stop working correctly until Vash stops him.
Once the twin part ways it's just mostly memories of Vash with the Planets. Silently "speaking" with them. Learning how to control them and occasionally helping people treat his sisters better. He even visits a space ship that didn't completely fall and stays hovering in the sky thanks to their three Plants. There's even a couple times that Vash stops a Plant from going out of control. Hands against the glass he goes quiet and connects with them and they calm.
Other times he's too late and finds their husks dead in their bulbs. Completely used and then discarded. Yet, he never gets angry with the humans and continues on for over a hundred and thirty years trying to find a way for everyone to live peacefully.
There's only a few big memories left with any hints of powers or Plants. Both of them are very close to where one of his copies is with the real Vash. One a black door with the name Legato carved into it. The other is the last door with Knives's name on it.
Readers beware. These two doors will have some of the biggest spoilers in the show as they are the last three episodes.no subject

Vash is an adult now. He stands quietly against a locked door as a young woman's voice shouts at him from the other side. "Repent and die, Vash the Stampede." Her words drip with venom as Vash listens to her walk away.
He looks up at the ceiling that has a lot of tubing running here and there. Some of it clearly haphazardly place and welded on by someone inexperienced. An alarm sounds warning of an overload and to evacuate. "Is there anything I can do?" Although he's probably too soft to be heard through the thick metal door it's clear he's talking more to whoever was on the other side then about the current situation.
Mostly because he knows how to handle this situation as he walks up a ramp in the center of the room as electric consoles start to spark and pieces of the ship start to break and fall away. The pinned man struggles to get away. "That bitch. Did she leave me to die in here with him?! That wasn't part of the deal!"
Vash ignores him and stretches his arms out. Eyes shut to concentrate better as more bits drop away and the Plant core above them start to become more exposed. She hasn't shown her true form yet as everything blares out a warning and the core is an angry red color.
As he stands firm and silent suddenly metal poles rise from the ground up into the Plant. Sparks of energy fall from above and while everything is hectic around them Vash doesn't look concerned at all.
"Wha- what the hell are you?" The man stuck on the ground has no idea what's going on and can't hear Vash's inner thoughts, but if Bill wanted to touch and get a listen he is of course welcomed to.
It will be much the same as before, several voices that can be heard at once, but it is also vastly different. The voices aren't so loud. More spread out. Some of the voices are missing now due to the distance and some of the Plants have died.
Not only are there less voices, but all have gone quiet except for one. One that is screaming out in pain. IT HURTS! I CAN'T STOP! IT HURTS! IT HURTS! CAN'T! HURT!
Vash speaks nothing out-loud. "It's okay. We can get through this." Most things with Plants are not said with words, but communicated with emotions. Vash tries to calm his sister with their special connection. Soon their hearts are beating together as one. He redirects some of the power that's overflowing in the Plant to himself without moving. Still standing in place with arms outstretched. Feathers start to sprout from his body as he does.
Together with Vash's free will he's able to overcome the command prompt that the Plant cannot ignore to go out of control. She begins to settle and relax. At least long enough that Vash can separate his conscious long enough to move towards the control and delete the commands that cause the Plant to run out of control in the first place. As soon as he severs the connection the feathers that had sprouted on his body also retreat back into him as if they had never been there at all. The alarms stop as Vash heads outside to check on the townspeople. They must have been frightened as if the Plant had exploded the whole town likely would have gone with the explosion.

So, a symbiosis. This is fine for curiosity's sake, but not terribly useful to manipulate the kid.
This Bill-copy will sneak out and wait until Vash thinks he's gone.

Of course, that leave the Legato and Knives doors open.]

Knives first!

A lush patch of grass and large trees may leave him thinking he's not on a desert planet, but if he looks a little ways beyond the edge of green there's sandy wasteland all around. The twin suns above beat down ruthlessly, but are completely ignored by the two men as they dart between the trees and shoot at each other.
There's a tense shoot out and neither brother look like they have an advantage over the other. That is until they end up at an arms length from each other. Each with only one bullet left and the barrel of their guns pressed into each others faces. Neither able to back away now as their free hand grab each other to keep the other twin from running.
As hammers are knocked back and bullet chambers turn they each tremble and take ragged breaths. Neither really sure what is about to happen at the end of this moment except that it would change things forever. Then. Click! Nothing. Both chambers are empty. Breathing heavily they both pull back the hammer again and. Click! Again. Empty.
There is the briefest moment of hesitation as they lock eyes with each other. It's only a second, but if feels like a lifetime for the two. Then at nearly the same time they both pull back their hammers and- BAM! Vash falls backwards having lost this game of Russian roulette. Only at the very last moment Knives isn't able to finish his brother off and shoots him in the shoulder.
As Vash falls to the ground holding his shoulder Knives smirks from above him. The top of his own gun snaps off and a bright light starts to shine from it. Vash looks panicked from the ground as Knives's arm easily transforms. It's clear he has had a lot of practice and control over his powers and transformation. The power starts welling up quickly as Knvies smiles serenely, apparently coming to a final decision on how to deal with his brother, as Vash lays there in a blind panic.
The power gathers quickly unlike Vash who fought against it. In fact there seems to be even MORE power there and right as Knives is about to release it all- there's a flash of dark. Almost as if someone blinked and everything is different.
There's no longer a desert oasis. Instead it's something Bill should be fairly familiar with at this point. Welcome back to the Marsiva again Bill. Only this time it's Vash who's first waking up here. "What-- NO! Where-?"

"YOU DIED? OUCH, SUNSHINE!"
Bill's been intangible almost the entire time, and pops out now because he really can't help himself.
You were just going by your muse's sense of time! That's fine! And Bill runs on: What's time? Time!
This isn't what he pictured at all. Fires of hell or some sort of angel he might have believed it, but... floating eye triangle?
